Why You Can’t Be Pro-Choice and Christian

by Dale Partridge

While most Christians are decidedly pro-life, there are still many who claim the name of Christ yet actually identify as pro-choice. There’s an additional group of people in the church who simply sit in the middle—they say things like, “I would never wish a mother to abort her baby, but I’m not going to make it illegal for her to do so.” In today’s episode, Dale and Veronica discuss why you can’t be Christian and Pro-Choice, but also why you can’t simply be anti-abortion, and why we must, as Christians, be pro-life.

  • 1 John 2:3-6 “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
  • Exodus 21:22-23. “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. . .My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret. . .Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, before one of them came to be.”
  • Luke 1:41: “And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”

  • Proverbs 24:10-12 “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?
