According to Ephesians 2:7, God wants us to know the immeasurable riches of His grace and kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. That is, He wants us to know the magnificence of Christ, the greatness of His redemptive work, and the love demonstrated toward us who believe.

However, we cannot grasp the depths of these realities until we grasp the darkness of our story. One theologian famously said, “The worse we realize we are, the greater we realize God’s grace is.” That is the essence behind this episode.
