Is Dale Partridge a Plagiarist?

by Dale Partridge

In January 2020, had a liberal journalist call me a Plagiarist on social media so I thought I would address her claim here. In the past, I engaged in plagiarism. Before I found faith in Christ, specifically between 2010 and 2014, I would thoughtlessly share tweets and social media posts without acknowledging the original source, giving people the impression that their words were mine.

Although I stopped this blatant form of plagiarism after my conversion in late 2014, I struggled with more subtle forms of plagiarism until 2018-2019. Primarily due to the fast-paced nature of creating online content, I would read books, articles, and other materials and unintentionally reproduce short phrases without proper citation or add a sentence into a podcast from my research notes without mentioning the source. Unfortunately, I failed to exercise vigilance and careful control over my words during that time. I deeply regret my actions, as they were sinful, and I’m grateful that the Lord humiliated me across social media to eliminate this ungodly behavior.

I did publicly and locally repent for this sin in 2014 and again in 2019. Since then, I have made significant changes to my publishing process to ensure proper citations, multiple rounds of third-party editing (especially for books), and the use of plagiarism detection software to catch any unintentional plagiarism. At this point, I am fully committed to being exceedingly cautious with my words, as I do not want to give anyone a reason to doubt or question the authenticity of the Gospel of Christ that I wholeheartedly preach.
